Head of AI

Lead the development of dependable AI-assisted research and transaction tools for Solon. This is a hands-on role for someone who can translate advisory needs into useful systems and judge when automation helps, when it fails and where human review must remain.

What you will do

  • Set a practical AI roadmap with the founders, prioritising use cases that improve research quality, preparation or execution.
  • Build and integrate tools for document analysis, structured extraction, research and workflow coordination.
  • Design evaluations that measure factual accuracy, source traceability and failure modes using representative work.
  • Establish appropriate access controls, data handling and human-review steps for confidential financial information.
  • Own production reliability, monitoring and improvement, and make clear build-versus-buy decisions.

What we are looking for

  • A record of shipping and operating AI-enabled software beyond prototypes and demonstrations.
  • Strong software engineering skills, including integrations, data pipelines, testing and observability.
  • Practical experience evaluating language-model outputs and designing systems that handle uncertainty safely.
  • The ability to work closely with non-technical colleagues and explain technical choices in terms of their business impact.
  • Technical leadership combined with a willingness to build directly; familiarity with financial workflows is helpful.
