Gregory Elgunov is the founder and Managing Director of Solon Corporate Finance. He was previously an investor in private credit and private equity at BlackRock, Permira, Allianz Global Investors and HSBC Global Asset Management, where he underwrote mid-market and sponsor-backed debt on transactions across Europe, taking deals from initial analysis through investment committee to completion.
Having underwritten these facilities from the lender's side, he understands how credit decisions are made and where proposals fall short. Solon applies that experience for the borrower: preparation to the standard a credit committee expects, a competitive process across the market, and terms negotiated through to completion.
At ModelML, he developed AI products for global investment banks and alternative asset funds. He read Management with Finance at Warwick Business School.
